Venue to be confirmed.

A Newcastle Music Festival event:

We will join a large combined choir of adult and young singers to present two works:

Requiem (Gabriel Fauré)

A beautiful work and one of the most popular choral works. Unlike most requiems it is not funereal and Fauré wrote it as a celebration of his father’s life.

St Nicolas (Benjamin Britten)

The story of the legendary life of Saint Nicholas, Bishop of Myra. It paints a dramatically bold portrait of the saint's character, exaggerating the legends and glory that have accumulated over the centuries around Nicholas's story.

Sunday 9 December 2018, 2.00 p.m. Great Hall, University of Newcastle

The Messiah (Handel)

A huge perennial seasonal favourite and one of the greatest choral works ever written to get your Christmas season off to a joyous start.
